Starbucks is celebrating its 100-year anniversary in a way that many American companies have never done before.
The chain’s 100th birthday was celebrated in a public event in Los Angeles that included speeches from the company’s founders and CEO Howard Schultz.
“Starbucks has always been a company that embraces diversity and welcomes new ideas,” Schultz said.
“But what’s most important is that we are a company whose mission is to serve people who love coffee.
We don’t just serve people, we serve coffee, coffee, and coffee.”
The company’s first coffee shop opened in Los Angelas in 1931.
Today, Starbucks has more than 1,500 cafes worldwide and more than 2,400 employees, according to the company.
According to Starbucks, its global expansion has helped the company to become one of the most profitable companies in the world.
The company earned a profit of $19.5 billion last year.
“Starbuck is a proud American company, and we want to celebrate our 100-Year Anniversary with our guests and our customers in Los, California,” Schultz added.
